Founded in 1989 by John Boyle, the business has grown to 277 shops in the Republic of Ireland, 45 shops in Northern Ireland, 46 in Mainland UK and 7 racecourse shops. BoyleSports offers telephone, mobile and internet betting and gaming services in Ireland, the UK and a range of other international markets.
Key milestones in the growth of the company include the purchase of 33 William Hill shops in Northern Ireland in 2020, saving 217 jobs. Our growing presence in Northern Ireland was boosted further by our first sponsorship there when we agreed a principal partnership deal with Larne Football Club.
In 2019, we moved into the UK market with the acquisition of a group of shops in the Midlands, which has been bolstered by BoyleSports’ principal partnerships with both Birmingham City FC and Coventry City FC.
BoyleSports HQ in the Republic of Ireland is located on the outskirts of Dundalk which straddles the border with Northern Ireland. The company currently employs over 2,700 employees. BoyleSports is regulated for betting and gaming activities in Ireland, the UK and Gibraltar. A Marketing Operations centre was opened in 2015, based in Ocean Village, Gibraltar, employing over 20 staff.
