Job Title: Head of PR & Sponsorship

Role Purpose

The Head of PR & Sponsorship will design, manage and deliver the BoyleSports overall consumer PR and Sponsorship strategy for Ireland and the UK. They will lead the team in implementing the consumer PR strategy on horse racing, football, sports and mainstream current affairs, including political markets. The Head of PR & Sponsorship will be responsible for the creation of a local sponsorship strategy for each market that ladders up to support the wider Brand strategy. They are responsible for sourcing, negotiation, delivery and activation of all sponsorship assets. The Head of PR & Sponsorship will act as the principal spokesperson for BoyleSports in these areas.

The Head of PR & Sponsorship will sit within the Marketing team in Dundalk and will report directly to the Marketing Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ownership and responsibility for the Sports, News, Novelty and Politics performance of the Consumer PR Team for the UK and Ireland.
  • Ownership and responsibility for the Sponsorship strategy and delivery for UK and Ireland.
  • Implement a consumer PR strategy around all sports and news PR work aligned to the brand programme and other commercial objectives.
  • Implement local sponsorship strategy including negotiation, delivery and activation.
  • Ensure activity is aligned with wider brand objectives.
  • Engage wider marketing team to ensure sponsorship activation is integrated 360 across all channels, specific partnerships with Brand and Content teams required.
  • Lead all commercial negotiations and contracting processes for Sponsorship and PR opportunities.
  • Create measurement frameworks for both channels and ensure KPIs are monitored and optimised.
  • Coordinate the full media response to all football, sports, politics & current affairs media enquiries and opportunities (both reactive and proactively sought).
  • Plan and manage the consumer PR and Sponsorship budget including agency engagement – from design-of-brief to agency-sourcing, execution and reporting of KPIs where necessary.
  • Understand the mechanic for a continual loop of appraisal and improvement of core activities throughout the calendar year to ensure an even and fair distribution of well-executed ideas across all media, including digital and broadcast.
  • Become recognized internally as a leading advocate of Sponsorship and PR and a deliverer of impactful campaigns to drive commercial benefits and brand strength.
  • Develop direct reports into accomplished, confident, accountable and respected PR and/or Sponsorship operators within our industry and secure loyalty of direct reports.
  • Responsible and accountable for overall results – measured monthly and quarterly – including digital measurements and analysis.
  • Lead as primary company spokesperson for all sports and news media work, actively securing a position within betting as one of the most recognizable and respected voices in the industry.
  • ·Work closely with, and support, the Corporate Communications function, specifically around Crisis Communications.
